About the Role Analytics Engineer
* Location: Melbourne / Hybrid working
* Daily Rate: Up to $1,400/day + Super
* Duration: Contract until 31 Dec 2026 (potential to extend)
As an Analytics Specialist, you will work closely with business stakeholders and analytics leaders to design, develop and deliver high-value analytical solutions. You'll play a key role in translating business challenges into data-driven insights, leveraging modern tools and techniques across large, complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with business stakeholders to develop and refine analytical use cases
* Translate business problems into analytical and machine learning solutions
* Analyse, interpret and model large datasets to generate actionable insights
* Rapidly test and iterate hypotheses to solve complex challenges
* Develop and present clear data visualisations and insights to non-technical audiences
* Provide subject matter expertise in machine learning to internal teams
* Lead and coordinate analytics and data science initiatives across onshore and offshore teams
* Contribute to agile delivery, including sprint planning and effort estimation
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory standards
* Share knowledge and promote best practices across the analytics community
About You
You are a technically strong and commercially minded analytics professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving real-world problems through data.
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience working with large and complex datasets to generate insights
* Strong skills in Python, SQL & Databricks
* Experience working in collaborative development environments
* Comfortable working in Linux-based systems
* Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams
* Exposure to machine learning techniques and frameworks
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline (preferred)
