Stepping Stone Clubhouse Inc. is seeking a Corporate Services Director to lead the organisation's finance and corporate services functions and help ensure the long‐term sustainability and effectiveness of our Clubhouse communities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced corporate services or finance leader who wants to apply their expertise in a values‐driven organisation creating pathways to better mental health.
Working closely with the CEO, Board and Leadership Team, the Corporate Services Director will play a key role in guiding this work and strengthening the systems and infrastructure that support our members, staff and community.
About the Role
The Corporate Services Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the organisation's corporate functions, including:
* Finance
* People and Culture
* Quality, governance and compliance
* Corporate administration and organisational systems
* ICT and operational infrastructure
As a member of the Leadership Team, you will work with the CEO and Board to ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable, well governed and operationally effective.
In a small organisational environment, the role combines strategic leadership with hands‐on operational involvement, working closely with the Finance Officer and People and Culture Compliance Officer. This role is based in Brisbane and involves working across Stepping Stone Clubhouse locations as required. Flexible working arrangements are supported, including work from home by agreement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the organisation's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial planning.
* Provide high‐quality financial advice and reporting to the CEO, Treasurer and Board.
* Oversee corporate systems and processes supporting governance, compliance and organisational operations.
* Support effective people and culture practices across the organisation, including HR systems, policy and workforce support.
* Supervise and support the Finance Officer and People and Culture Compliance Officer.
* Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with funding, regulatory and audit requirements.
* Contribute to organisational planning, continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
About You
* You are an experienced leader who combines strong financial and organisational systems expertise with a collaborative and values‐driven leadership style. You are comfortable working in a small organisation where strategic leadership is balanced with hands‐on operational involvement.
* Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
* Experience developing and managing operational systems across finance, governance and compliance.
* Proven leadership capability, including staff management and supporting organisational decision‐making.
* Experience overseeing people and culture functions, including HR processes and policy development.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports for Boards or senior leaders.
* Ability to build strong professional relationships with staff, Board members, funders and partners.
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Well Regarded Qualities
* Experience in the not‐for‐profit, community services or mental health sector.
* Understanding of governance and compliance frameworks relevant to community organisations (including government funding or NDIS environments).
* Strong digital literacy, including financial and HR systems and AI.
