The Opportunity
SRA Solutions is going through an extraordinary period of growth. As we continue to redefine the market with class-leading solutions, we're looking for a hands-on IT and Cyber Security Manager to lead our digital infrastructure and security posture into the next phase.
Managing a small team (< 3) and supporting the business across 5 sites and 120 staff, you'll be the driving force behind our internal IT operations. This is a unique hybrid role that balances high-level strategy and leadership with hands-on project delivery.
A primary focus of this role in the first 12 months will be to lead SRA Solutions through the DISP (Defence Industry Security Program) certification process, ensuring our systems and processes meet the rigorous standards required to support our defence-sector partners.
We're headquartered just outside of Canberra in Queanbeyan, NSW, however, there would be an expectation to spend some time at our branch offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for uplift projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership | Manage and mentor a small, dedicated IT team to provide exceptional support to our 120-person workforce.
* Security and compliance | Lead the roadmap to attain and maintain DISP certification, including alignment with the Essential Eight and other relevant security frameworks.
* Infrastructure management | Oversight of IT operations across 5 sites, ensuring high availability, performance and security of our networks and systems.
* Project delivery | Act as the lead technical resource for uplift projects, from cloud migrations and network hardening to hardware refreshes.
* Strategic planning | Develop and manage the IT budget, lifecycle planning and disaster recovery strategies.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
* Cyber security focus | Proven experience in cyber security uplift, specifically working with frameworks like ISO27001 or the ACSC Essential Eight.
* Experience requirement | Minimum 5+ years of IT and cyber security experience is required.
* Technical breadth | Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, On-Prem, networking (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs) and endpoint management.
* Governance knowledge | Previous experience with (or a strong understanding of) DISP certification or Defence-related security requirements is highly regarded.
* Leadership | Experience managing a small team or leading IT functions in a multi-site, mid-sized business (120+ staff) would be a big plus, though management/leadership experience is not necessary. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into leadership starting with a small team.
* Communication | The ability to translate complex technical risks into clear business language for the executive team.
* Eligibility | Due to the requirements of DISP certification, Australian Citizenship is generally required to undergo the necessary security clearances. Existing Security Clearance would be a bonus.
