The Opportunity
We are looking for an Engagement Officers (either ASO3 or ASO4, depending on experience and capability) to join our Engagement team at the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT).
In this role, you'll support the delivery of meaningful community and stakeholder engagement across a wide range of projects, programs and initiatives. Reporting to the Principal Engagement Officer, you will help design and implement engagement plans, develop clear and accessible communication materials, and ensure community feedback is captured and reflected in decision-making.

You demonstrate high-level verbal and written communication skills, presenting clearly and credibly to a wide range of stakeholders. Your experience in engaging effectively with customers and stakeholders allows you to manage complex issues across multiple projects with professionalism and care.
As an Engagement Officer, you influence outcomes, minimise community impacts, and support the successful delivery of projects. Your proficiency in research and data interpretation enables you to present insights that inform decision-making and enhance engagement strategies.
You bring a collaborative and respectful approach to your work, contributing to a positive team culture and actively promoting diversity, inclusion, and safety in all aspects of engagement.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Qualifications
* International Association for Public Participation qualifications are desirable.
Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to two (2) years.
Multiple positions available
Remuneration
ASO3 - $67,589 to $72,033 pa + superannuation.
ASO4 - $76,561 to $ 80,256 pa + superannuation.
