Care Aide, Overnight Respite Cottage – Peel – WA

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced and passionate community support worker to join Silverchain in the position of Care Aide at our Overnight Respite Cottage on a casual basis.

We are seeking applicants who are available to work 4:00pm to 09:00am to support with preparation of an evening meal and breakfast, supervision and standby assistance with personal care and medication support.

Our Care Aides deliver exceptional care and support to our clients, enhancing and encouraging their ability to participate in their own care to maintain their independence. You will be required to have a full clean driver's license for this role and be comfortable to drive our van/bus for transporting clients. Some support work in the community will also be required.

What we're looking for
* Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, HACC, Disability is highly desirable, although not essential.
* Those with a relevant Certificate will require a minimum of 3 months relevant care worker experience. Those without a relevant Certificate will require a minimum of 6+ months relevant care worker experience (FTE).
* Experience working in a home care/community setting.
* A valid Driver's License with unrestricted access to a registered vehicle which is appropriately insured and in good condition, is essential.
* Ability and willingness to work autonomously in the community, travelling from home to home, referring to a digital schedule and care plan, via a mobile app, will be essential.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills are essential.
The role
* Deliver high quality care and support that promotes client independence.
* Provide personal care, including: Showering, Grooming and Toileting.
* Assist with medication as required.
* Prepare meals and support clients with nutrition needs.
* Provide domestic assistance and general housekeeping.
* Offer social support and community engagement.
* Follow a predetermined schedule while travelling between clients' homes.
* Use a mobile app to access and follow digital schedules and care plans independently.
* Maintain unrestricted access to a reliable vehicle for travel between visits.
