The Team

The After Hours Nurse Manager is an integral member of the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) team at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). The IOC serves as the central coordination hub, ensuring patients receive the right care from the right person in the most appropriate setting. It brings together integrated services that work collaboratively to deliver a seamless patient journey across the continuum of care, improving outcomes for consumers, the workforce, and the Tasmanian community.


The Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, oversight, and management of health service operations after hours. The successful applicant will demonstrate:

* Strong leadership skills and comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing management practices
* Adaptability and the ability to respond effectively to change
* Availability for fully rotational shifts, with a willingness to work predominantly weekends, late shifts, and nights
* The ability to integrate effectively within the existing After Hours Nurse Manager team

This recruitment process may result in fixed‑term and casual appointments over the next 12 months.

Details of appointment

Permanent part‑time, shift‑worker position, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.


Salary

$134,109 – $140,384 per annum Pro rata. Our Employer 12 % superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. The salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range ($99,455 – $105,995) is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.


Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary package benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, and other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Desired criteria include:

* Relevant postgraduate qualifications.
