**About the role**
RCS is currently looking for Disability Support Worker to join our team in Brisbane on a casual basis.
You will be supporting our participants in their homes with various activities including daily living, community access, personal care, domestic duties and taking them to appointments as required. Our service requires you to support participants high care needs to live as independently as possible.
Flexibility is essential, there are 2-hour to 5-hour shifts available from Monday to Sunday from 6:00am to 10pm.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Personal care: grooming, dressing, toileting, and showering
- Domestic duties including meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and cleaning
- Assists participants with medications
- Experience with mental health and BOC
- High intensity support activities
- Provide community inclusion and support participants to develop relationships and interests through access to community activities and services.
**Essential Requirements**
- Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities highly desirable
- AUSLAN experience
- Experience with non-verbal, autistic and schizophrenia
- Experience in managing continence aid, hoisting and mobilization
- Must have a QLD driver's licence and own reliable transport
- Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Experience in injury and skin care
- Experience in ABI, Epilepsy and BOC
- Experience in severe OCS and anxiety
- NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Full Australian working rights
- Smart phone with internet access
- Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (2 doses required)
- Two current (within the past 2 years) skilled references from a supervisor will be required
