Why Tyres?
Tyre management and maintenance is a large part of a mining operation and is usually one of the top 3 expenditures on a mine site. Our qualified tyre technicians provide a critical operational role in undertaking planned and reactive tyre changes, maintenance and routine inspections. Assessing wheel components to ensure tyres remain in service on a range of mobile mining equipment is essential. This opportunity will allow you to become a fully qualified OTR (off the road) Tyre Fitter, a role that offers responsibility, development, and diversity of work.
The Role
As a Trainee, your program starts with a fully paid, industry-leading theory-based course conducted in one of our in-house training facilities. This includes a tailored mine site readiness program in either Perth WA or Hunter Valley NSW for the initial 4 weeks. After completion, you will be guaranteed a role at one of our mine sites nationally where you will continue your on-the-job training. Rosters vary, though generally are family friendly. You will receive guaranteed wage increases at each stage of training milestones and development.
What You Will Learn
- How to fit, remove and perform maintenance on wheels on any type of vehicle
- Perform inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components
- Enter data and record information into our Otracom tyre management database
- Maintain pressures and quality in accordance with site specifications
- Uphold our commitment to provide a high level of service to our clients
About You
We are seeking people who are looking to join our inclusive organisation and begin a genuine career within the tyre industry. We are looking for those who work cooperatively in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
- Hold a valid driving licence (minimum open C class manual licence)
- Hold a Worksafe (HRWL) Forklift Ticket
- A strong safety and procedural focus
- Mechanical aptitude would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A team player
- Ability to always represent our company professionally
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical, Drug and Alcohol Screening and a current police check
No experience in Tyre Fitting is necessary. We are seeking highly motivated applicants with a “can do” attitude, with the desire to learn and grow within our industry.

We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and at the end of training you will hold a nationally recognised certificate in Tyre Servicing Technology which will enable you to work on any tyre, including all earthmoving tyres, anywhere in the world.
