Project Officer
Clerk Grade: 07/08
Salary Range: $113,574 - $125,720 + super
Location: McKell, Parramatta, Gosford. Hybrid work arrangements with office attendance required
Employment Type: 2x Full Time (35 hrs per week), temporary opportunities (up to 12 months)
About this role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an individual to join the workplace services team at the Department of Customer Service as a Project Officer. You will support the Program Manager or Senior Project Officer with the coordination of the development, implementation, and evaluation of construction office accommodation refurbishments or fit-out projects to achieve project outcomes and support organisational objectives.
A key focus will be to support the Program Manager or Senior Project Officer with stakeholder communications, briefing notes, procurement of suppliers, program preparation, financial management, contractor performance, and project evaluation. Additionally, you will support design and coordination issues on site with clients and contractors.
The work will include technology upgrades related to office accommodation.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Work experience and knowledge of end-to-end project delivery, including procurement, contract administration, and construction management.
* Experience managing tendering procedures and overseeing construction contractors.
* Knowledge of procurement processes and transition to NSW Government procurement procedures.
* Ideally, experience with NSW Government contracts and schemes.
* Flexibility and innovation in problem-solving.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, or equivalent.
* Experience within the construction industry.
* Proficiency with project management software/tools.
* Experience in financial and risk management.
* Ability to work autonomously.
