Join Our Team as a Dedicated Youth Worker for our Supported Independent Living Program
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people aged 16-17? Do you have a heart for guiding them towards successful independent living? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for casual youth workers for our Hervey Bay/Fraser Coast services.

About the role
As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive environment for young people aged 16-17.
Your responsibilities will include:

* Designing and implementing tailored programs to address the unique needs of each individual.
* Providing personalised youth work support per week to guide and mentor young people in their transition to independent living.
* Facilitating opportunities for skill development, self-care, and financial sustainability.
* Collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the overall well-being and success of the young individuals in our care.
* Shifts lengths vary from 6, 8, 12 to 16hrs.

This is a Permanent Part-Time Position working 60 hours a fortnight, pay rate starting from $37.34 per/hour.
Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements

* A Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services, or a related field
* Current Blue Card
* Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) or willingness to obtain
* Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training
* Current Queensland Drivers Licence
* The ability to provide two recent referees of supervisors
* Availability to work days, evening, weekends and sleepovers is essential for current needs.

* Ability to engage children and youth in purposeful activities to enhance life skills
* Proactive communicator and relationship builder with others from diverse backgrounds
* Utilize trauma-informed approach in understanding child development and behaviour
* Capability to recognize the role of family dynamics, particularly in child protection contexts
* Supportive of youth in activities and foster independent living skills
* Effectively Contributor to team outcomes
* Ability to operate autonomously while seeking guidance as needed
* Able Respond to crises flexibly, considering risk and compliance
* Understand of provision of care in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999
