• Successful applicant may be required to work at either the Sunbury Campus (Primary) or the Bullengarook Campus (Secondary).
• The position is a 52/52 role with 4 weeks annual leave per year.
• Perform minor repairs as directed by the Operations/Facilities Manager & Principal.
• Attend meetings as part of the Facilities & Maintenance team.
• Painting of internal classrooms as required.
• Repair furniture and equipment e.g., table tops, table legs, castors.
• Identify and report the need for repairs.
• Undertake general maintenance and minor duties.
• Keep storage facilities clean, tidy and safe, including signage for OHS risks.
• General set‐up and packing away after major events.
• General handyperson duties as directed.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and also with minimum supervision within a team environment.
• A full Drivers Licence is required.
• Assist with moving furniture & equipment.
• Other duties as directed by the Operations/Facilities Manager & Principal.
• 22‐seater licence or willingness to undertake.

The Maintenance/Handyman role will be responsible for the overall physical maintenance requirements of the school, identify and rectify short‐term needs, respond to occupational health and safety issues, maintain the school fabric, liaise with trades personnel as required and respond to identified occupational health and safety needs. The role will require accountability to the Operations/Facilities Manager & Principal and will work collaboratively with the school administration team, meeting DET compliance accountabilities and annual inspections and in response to School Council direction.

Location Profile: Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School is a dual mode school with two campuses, a campus in Sunbury and a second campus in Bullengarook. Currently we have 275 students enrolled across both campuses. Approximately 45% of our students have a diagnosis of autism combined with an intellectual disability. Additionally many students have other diagnoses. The Bullengarook campus is included on the Bushfire at Risk Register as it is located in a high fire risk area. The school has experienced consistent annual student growth and a ceiling of 288 students.
