Our client is looking for individuals with expertise in any of the following: tax controversy, corporate tax, forensic accounting, insolvency, litigation, financial services, financial auditing or investigations with tax, finance, corporate law or regulatory implications.
The role:
- be responsible for leading and providing strategic direction for detection and investigation of tax avoidance or evasion
- work as part of high-performing teams to detect and investigate tax avoidance or evasion by taxpayers and/or their advisers
- use your investigative mindset to examine complex arrangements and plan tailored tactical approaches for gathering information and collecting evidence
- use your tax knowledge, technical expertise and ability to engage and influence with diverse stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to address avoidance or evasion behaviours
- analyse large volume of data and information to detect risks and issues and inform treatment strategies
- experience in undertaking investigations or audits of regulatory breaches which entail tax implications in complex environments
- expert knowledge of the taxation and superannuation legislative and financial environments, particularly in the areas of public or private groups
- recognised qualifications in accounting, law, financial services, investigations or commerce-related disciplines
- proven ability to communicate a technical view to contribute to resolve complex tax matters to achieve principled and fair outcomes
