Job Description
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the teaching of a curriculum in philosophy, including existing courses in philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of cognitive science. An empirically-oriented approach to these issues is highly valued. The appointee will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of one or more first year philosophy units and to third-year metaphysics. There may be opportunities to teach research-related seminars in a postgraduate program, develop new teaching material on empirical approaches to consciousness, and supervise students pursuing higher degrees by research.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the development and delivery of a range of undergraduate and postgraduate philosophy courses
2. Undertake research and publish high-quality peer-reviewed papers in leading academic journals
3. Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and materials
4. SUPervise honours and higher degree by research students in Philosophy
5. Engage with the broader academic community through conference presentations, guest lectures, and other outreach activities
6. Participate in departmental and faculty committees to contribute to decision-making and strategic planning

Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a PhD in Philosophy, a strong track record of high-quality research output, and demonstrated expertise in teaching and learning. They should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
