Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently recruiting a Workforce Coordinator to their Human Resources team. The Workforce Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe, and compliant human resources services across KWHB. Working closely with the Senior Manager Human Resources and the HR team, this position provides operational and advisory support across a broad range of workforce functions. The role coordinates key workforce processes, responds to workforce-related enquiries, and ensures compliance with relevant legislation, industrial instruments, and organisational policies. The Workforce Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining and analysing workforce data to support reporting and informed decision-making. The role undertakes workplace reviews and investigations as required, applying sound judgement to assess information and develop evidence-based findings and recommendations.

Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km2), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Role requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience providing high-quality HR advice and support within a complex organisation. You will have strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR practices, with the ability to interpret and apply these confidently in day-to-day operations. You are an excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders. You exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality and professional integrity, and are comfortable supporting managers with workforce decision-making and problem-solving.

Person specification

This position suits a highly organised, professional, and discreet individual who can exercise initiative, communicate effectively with managers and staff, and contribute positively to a collaborative, community-focused organisation.

Remuneration and benefits

The successful candidate will receive an attractive remuneration A&G5-A&G6 (negotiable based on relevant skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation and 18% leave loading, as well as a range of benefits which include:
