About the Opportunity

As the Aboriginal Academic Lead Nursing – Senior Lecturer, you will play a key leadership role in advancing culturally safe nursing education through the implementation and ongoing evaluation of the latawina Aboriginal Health Curriculum Framework across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Working collaboratively with the School of Nursing and the latawina Blak Health Collective, you will lead curriculum development, strengthen cultural capability, and embed Aboriginal knowledges and perspectives across teaching, learning and assessment to ensure culturally safe and high‐quality educational outcomes. In addition, you will:

* Engage with Aboriginal academics, community and students to ensure culturally safe teaching, learning and assessment
* Lead curriculum, assessment and unit coordination across face‐to‐face and online delivery
* Provide leadership to staff in embedding Aboriginal health curriculum and meeting accreditation requirements
* Contribute to academic quality assurance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander curriculum content
* Maintain relationships with industry, profession and community partners and support professional development activities
* Contribute to School leadership through committees, meetings and academic governance
* Deliver scholarly teaching informed by Aboriginal pedagogies and reflective practice
* Contribute to research outputs, funding applications and HDR supervision where applicable

What's Required

* Deep knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, community and ways of knowing, particularly in relation to Indigenous health and health leadership
* Ability to communicate effectively and work in a culturally safe and respectful manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
* Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using Aboriginal pedagogies across undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes
* Proven ability to develop and improve curriculum, including use of educational technologies and online delivery methods
* Strong commitment to student success, equity, diversity and inclusion, with ability to support and inspire diverse student cohorts
* Experience in industry engagement and/or work‐integrated learning
* Strong interpersonal, organisational and collaboration skills with the ability to work across disciplines and build effective relationships
* Current registration as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
* PhD or equivalent in a related field of Nursing or Health Services is highly desirable
* Demonstrated research track record with evidence of high‐quality outputs, research leadership and HDR supervision (desirable)

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 comprising base salary within the range of $138,536 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
