Production Planning Role
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating production activities across cutting-edge defence projects. You will play a critical role in shaping production strategies and ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations.
About the Job
The Production Planner will support project make/buy processes to establish contracted and local production scopes. They will define production strategies and methods suited to the production environment, establishing key performance indicators and reports to monitor execution.
Maintaining a production plan for the production workshop and coordinating day-to-day activities in accordance with lead times is also an essential part of this role. Communicating the production schedule and changes to the schedule will ensure seamless workflow.
This position requires delivering production orders and providing performance reporting for work undertaken in ERP systems. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are necessary to excel in this position.
Key Responsibilities
* Support project make/buy processes to establish contracted and local production scopes.
* Define production strategies and methods suited to the production environment.
* Establish key performance indicators and reports to monitor execution.
* Maintain a production plan for the production workshop and coordinate day-to-day activities in accordance with lead times.
* Communicate the production schedule and changes to the schedule.
* Deliver production orders and provide performance reporting for work undertaken in ERP systems.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum 5 years' experience in production planning.
* Demonstrated applied ERP experience in manufacturing.
* Demonstrated experience using scheduling tools.
* Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management or a related discipline (desirable).
* Previous trade-based experience (desirable).
* Applied knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma (desirable).
