Job Description
ACCIONA Agua is a global leader in sustainable water infrastructure, delivering innovative solutions across desalination, wastewater treatment, and water recycling. We are currently seeking a highly capableLead E&I Engineer with deep expertise inInstrumentation & Control (I&C) andSCADA systems to spearhead our tendering efforts for large-scale water projects.
This role is essential toleading the delivery and optimisation of major water treatment projects, including bothconventional and desalination facilities. You will play a key role in ensuringoperational excellence, client satisfaction, and long-term asset performance, while also adding strategic tenders and future project delivery across the South Australia region .
As the I&C Lead Engineer, you will take ownership of thetendering phase for major desalination and water treatment projects. You will lead the preparation of technical submissions, cost estimates and ensure alignment with client expectations and project specifications.
Tendering & Design Leadership
* Lead I&C and SCADA design strategy and execution for tender submissions.
* Guide bid teams in defining technical approaches aligned with client goals.
* Lead the preparation of technical documents, drawings, and procurement specifications.
* Present and defend D&C cost estimates to ensure competitive and accurate proposals.
* Oversee digital documentation, including drawing registers and change requests.
* Champion technical innovation to enhance bid competitiveness.
Procurement & Coordination
* Lead collaboration with procurement teams to define scope and tendering requirements.
* Direct vendor selection processes and lead RFQ preparation for I&C equipment.
* Represent the technical team in discussions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Lead the development of tender service agreements with clear technical clauses.
* Conduct site visits and lead technical meetings to inform the tender strategy.
Project Delivery Leadership (Post-Tender)
* Lead the transition from tender to project delivery teams.
* Provide senior-level technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning.
* Resolve technical issues and ensure adherence to design intent and specifications.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Lead communication with clients and project partners throughout the tendering process.
* Present technical documents and lead discussions with stakeholders.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future collaboration.
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering (or related).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in technical tendering or a comparable leadership role.
* Extensive knowledge of I&C and SCADA design for desalination and water treatment.
* Proven leadership in preparing technical tender documents and cost estimates.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Deep understanding of procurement processes and vendor coordination.
* Ability to lead under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Willingness to travel interstate and internationally as required.
* Spanish language skills are a plus, but not essential.
* Experience leading digital engineering platforms (e.g., BIM).
* Prior leadership in I&C tendering for desalination or water treatment projects.
