Job Description
The Senior Nurse - Primary Care will work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing expert guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to ensure that all patients receive the best possible care.
* Coordinate and manage the provision of primary healthcare services to inmates
* Support clinical assessments, care planning, and discharge processes
* Provide mentorship and guidance to new staff and ensure best practice standards
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality services
* Assist in risk assessments, patient support, and harm minimisation strategies
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* A current registration as a Registered Nurse – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
* Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of quality improvement and evidence-based practice in healthcare
* Experience working in a primary nursing setting, ideally within a forensic or correctional environment
* Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team
