About the position
As a Fund Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Operations & Enterprise Risk, and the wider Fund Finance team. The position focuses on overseeing accounting, tax, reporting, and selected compliance and operational matters across the Qualitas suite of Funds, which are administered by an outsourced fund and loan administrator.
This role offers strong exposure to fund operations within a dynamic real assets environment and the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Key responsibilities
* Support the Head of Operations and Enterprise Risk and the Fund Finance team across accounting, taxation, and financial reporting matters.
* Review monthly fund accounting and reporting packs prepared by the external fund administrator.
* Review monthly distributions, unit pricing, NAV calculations, and management and performance fee calculations.
* Assist with the preparation of financial information for investor reporting and fund committee materials.
* Coordinate with external service providers including administrators, custodians, joint venture partners, banks, and tax and accounting advisers.
* Review taxation reconciliations, GST calculations, and BAS returns prepared by the fund administrator.
* Support external audit processes, including the preparation of audit evidence for Qualitas' GS007 internal controls report.
* Assist with tax-related matters and respond to ad hoc fund queries as required.
* Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of fund finance and investment operations related to outsourced fund and loan administration.
* Prepare Proper Instructions (PIs) to support payment authorisations.
* Maintain effective day-to-day communication with the outsourced fund administrator to resolve queries and ensure timely data flow.
What you'll bring to the role
* Tertiary qualification (mandatory), with CA or CPA studies commenced or completed.
* Relevant experience in private equity, construction, or property development gained as part of overall professional training, ideally within a Big Four or mid-tier accounting firm.
* Strong technical skills across fund accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
* High attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across functions and contribute to a unified team culture.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing practical solutions.
* High level of digital literacy, including strong Word and Excel skills, and comfort using technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* An interest in emerging technologies and basic awareness of AI tools and their practical application.
