Job Title: Product Development Engineer
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative team as a Product Development Engineer. In this role, you will have the chance to develop new engineered water filtration products and production processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop research and development programs for the development of new engineered water filtration products and manufacturing processes.
* Apply design thinking while working within the innovation process and product development lifecycle to design and develop new products.
* Develop, review, and maintain technical product designs and technical drawings, working with Autodesk Inventor (or similar).
* Apply engineering tools to the design process (DFMEA, RCA, CAD, Rapid Prototyping, FEA), and translate design concepts into prototypes and full-scale manufactured products.
* Assist in the identification and resolution of product and plant operating problems and the establishment of quality specifications and standards for incoming materials, in-process manufacture, and finished products.
* Assist in the preparation of product and process specifications and operating procedures.
* Prepare reports on projects and/or trials.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
* 5+ years of engineering experience with a strong understanding and aptitude for product design and development.
* Strong hands-on abilities in materials selection, prototyping, assembly, and product manufacturing processes.
* Excellent experience with solid modeling design software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor or similar), FEA (desirable), computers (incl. MS Word & Excel), and mechanical calculations.
* Experienced in human-centered design and design for manufacture.
* Able to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively, and consult with diverse stakeholders (customers, sales, marketing, production, operations). Able to work to deadlines.
