The role

As part of our Defence and Delivery group, the Field Service Representative will is responsible for delivering waterfront services to support Saab combat system elements delivered to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

These activities include help desk, Urgent Defect (URDEF) investigations and other technical support. This position provides a direct interface to ship crew and/or waterfront operations.

Further, the successful candidate will:

* Provide technical support for Saab combat system platforms, including ANZAC/LHD/AOR/OPV ship classes and related Land Based Test Sites (LBTS).
* Within the tteam, assist with help desk and URDEF enquiries and responses including remote support where necessary.
* Support the Operating and Technical Lead to work cohesively with internal Saab and determine complex technical solutions for designated projects.
* Responsible to undertake technical support activities such as installation and set to work procedures, commissioning activities including CAT 4/5, Harbour/Sea Acceptance Trials.
* Support the Maintenance team to deliver planned and corrective maintenance activities as required, particularly during concurrent support activities such as system groom and condition assessments.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to plan, schedule, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Ability to relate to and liaise with personnel both internally and externally with RAN staff and sub-contractor representatives
* Experience with validation or authorization of technical documentation including test procedures, test reports and closing reports.
* Knowledge of RAN combat system operational needs and performance
* Knowledge of subsystems such as radars, navigational aids, weapons/engagement and sensor integration

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
