About the Role The Senior School Finance Analyst will deliver high quality analysis of Victorian Government and Non-Government School financial data to ensure strong financial management and inform future policy and process development. The role will contribute to the development, management and analysis of school funding and expenditure and provide expert advice to program areas and key stakeholders This role will require strong knowledge of systems, data management, analytic practices which support financial management within the department and schools. The role will be responsible for: * School financial data analysis and reporting to senior management, key stakeholders and program areas on a periodic and ad-hoc basis * School financial data analysis to support and inform the School Enterprise Bargaining Agreement process * Review and support the State Budget process as it relates to direct funding to schools * School financial data analysis to inform funding reforms and enhancements to school funding in Victoria Attributes The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of school funding including the state budget process and the systems used within schools or similar large government sector environment. They will have well developed technical data and analysis skills needed to use large data sets and develop solution focused analysis. They will need strong problem-solving skills to support development of solutions to complex problems within the school financial management settings. Desirable Qualifications and Experience Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting or a related field. Desirable: Expertise with analytical systems/tools i.e. Microsoft suite, Oracle Analytics, Student Resource Package. About the Division Financial Services Division, designs and implements financial management principles, processes and systems to ensure that the Department and its managers in central office, regions, schools and statutory authorities have the necessary support to execute their financial management responsibilities. About the Branch School Finance and Resources Branch, manages the efficient and effective allocation of resources to government and non-government schools, congruent with the Government's priorities and school education reform agenda within the departments planning and budget framework. About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
