The Opportunity
Role Type: Full-Time
Location: Tarago, NSW
The primary purpose of the Logistics Supervisor role is to lead and manage operational teams involved in stockpiling and loading mineral concentrates to road transport, allocating labour to achieve required productivity to meet mine production plans while setting safety and customer performance standards.
Specific Responsibilities
* Ensure appropriate communication of standards, expectations, and procedures to the operational team through pre-start safety and information discussions and meetings.
* Select, prepare, and direct the use of appropriate equipment in a safe and productive manner that contributes to safe practices, damage prevention, and productivity.
* Direct and manage the performance of the operations team on the job to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
* Liaise with customers at daily production meetings to ensure all tasks are coordinated and allocated to meet the production forecast.
* Complete and process all required documents including stockpile capacity plans, container loading plans, transport forecasts, and staff rosters.
* Set standards for safe, efficient operations, equipment cleanliness, and conduct of all personnel.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with employment terms (EA’s), OH&S, Environmental legislation, and company policies, taking corrective actions as necessary.
* Resolve workforce queries and issues related to policy and practice, escalating to the Supply Base Manager when appropriate.
* Identify and submit hazard, near miss, and incident reports, and assist with investigations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Supervisory experience in a similar role
* Experience in mining operations
* Experience forecasting transport and labour demands
* Experience in regulated workplace environments
* Computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook
* Heavy Top Lift Forklift Experience and License
* Front End Loader Experience and License
* Skid Steer Experience and License
