About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Logistics Officer to join a government organisation in Melbourne. In this role, you will manage inventory, property, and evidence, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, distribution, and disposal in line with legislation and organisational policies. You will also assist with audits, administrative duties, and risk mitigation strategies, contributing to a safe and efficient logistics operation.
Responsibilities
* Receive, store, distribute, return, and dispose of inventory, property, and/or evidence
* Conduct audits to ensure security, accountability, and traceability
* Undertake manual handling and administrative tasks related to movement of accountable items
* Assist with risk mitigation strategies, including health and safety initiatives
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of service
About You
* Experience in a logistics or warehousing environment, with knowledge of inventory management systems
* Skilled in safe operation of warehouse equipment; forklift licence desirable
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships
* Proficient in software packages and able to compile reports and basic statistics
* Committed to ethical behaviour and organisational values
