The Role
Join our team as a Special Needs Education Assistant and make a real difference in the lives of students. We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate team members to help create and maintain supportive, inclusive learning environments.
Working under teacher direction, you will provide support for individual and small groups of students to assist them to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills. Suitable applicants will ideally have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to work collaboratively with staff members to meet the needs of students with special needs. Ideally, applicants will have a successful history of working with teachers to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment, and the general care and wellbeing of students.
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will support staff to implement individual documented plans and provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs. Suitable applicants will ideally have experience with successfully implementing evidence-based strategies to support students with a range of disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Experience in early childhood and junior primary school settings, including Kindergarten, will be highly regarded.

* Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
* Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
