Role Description
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to join our school community as a Learning Specialist. This role involves modeling excellence in teaching and learning through demonstration lessons, mentoring, and coaching teachers to improve their skills and knowledge.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled classroom practitioner with deep knowledge and expertise in high-quality teaching and learning practices. They will have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise, including teaching demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to other teachers, and facilitating school-based professional learning.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to take on a leadership role and contribute to the improvement of student learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will be able to model excellent teaching and learning practices, lead and mentor colleagues, and develop and implement whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modeling high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice
- Demonstrating exemplary classroom practice through teaching demonstration lessons
- Working with the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice
- Leading and modeling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery
Requirements:
- Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
