Job Overview
EdConnect Learning Support Volunteers (LSVs) assist students and teachers in the classroom or in other areas of the school for a minimum of one hour per week. LSVs enjoy being part of a busy school environment and often work autonomously as part of the school team. With patience, understanding and a positive attitude, volunteers encourage and support students to achieve academic goals.
Responsibilities
* Assist students with their learning within a classroom.
* Listen to students read.
* Work with small groups of students to assist with literacy or numeracy work.
* Assist in the school library, canteen, or breakfast club.
* Assist with specialist programs.
Commitment
Volunteers must commit to a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months so the schools can integrate volunteer support into their timetables.
Training
Training is provided both online and in person.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required. Life experience, literacy in English, and a keen interest in helping a new generation build the skills they need for success in life are all that is required.
