What We Offer
Competitive Salary
$130,000–$150,000 + super (based on experience) — Sydney-level pay in the more affordable regional setting of Armidale
Family-Owned, Long-Term Commitment
We’re not a franchise or a large corporate provider. We’re building something meaningful, bespoke and independent — and we’re in it for the long haul
Equity Opportunity
After 24 months in the role, equity in the centre will be offered to the right candidate
Sign-on & Retention Bonus
$20,000 in total, paid in $5,000 instalments at 6, 12, 18, and 24 months
Relocation Package
- $10,000 allowance
-Support securing rental housing
-School connection assistance
-4 weeks of free accommodation (Airbnb, serviced apartment, or short-term rental)
-Paid travel for interview or a “try-before-you-move” visit
Lifestyle Benefits
$50/week wellness allowance (gym, yoga, etc.)

The Vision
Little Saplings will provide 110 much needed places to the community in Armidale. It is the first centre in a broader vision: To create 500 high-quality early learning places across regional NSW. As our Centre Director, you’ll play a foundational role in bringing that vision to life.
Founder Nick Perry (Bailey Nelson co-founder and father of three) is passionate about supporting families in regional areas — starting in his hometown of Armidale. He brings deep business experience and will work closely with you to ensure the centre thrives operationally and financially.
The Timeline
End of Sept: Building completed
Late Oct /Nov 2025: Soft opening with 10 children and a small founding team.
6 Months In: 50% occupancy, strong culture, and core leadership team in place (incl. Educational Leader, potentially a 2IC).
12 Months In: Approaching full capacity (110 places), preparing for Department of Education assessment, and operating as a sustainable, high-reputation centre.
About the Role
You’ll work closely with Nick, who provides business and operational support — including budgeting, financial planning, and access to a dedicated bookkeeper. You’ll have weekly check-ins and daily access for collaboration and problem-solving.
You’ll be shaping culture, building systems, recruiting a team, and delivering an outstanding early learning experience — from the ground up.
Your Responsibilities

* Develop and oversee educational programs and compliance
* Establish strong community, family, and stakeholder relationships

About You
* 3+ years' experience leading a 100-place early learning centre
* Energised by the opportunity to build something from scratch
* A natural leader who inspires trust and brings people together
* Excellent communicator and relationship-builder — with staff, families, and regulators
* Excited by the long-term vision of expanding high-quality early education across regional NSW
* Ready to relocate and invest in a meaningful, long-term opportunity
* Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (as a minimum) or
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (preferred)
* Approved for Nominated Supervisor role under the NSW Education and Care Services National Regulations
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certifications
* Current Working With Children Check (NSW)
