Due to growth, we have a newly created opportunity for a Practice Manager to join our Government team in any of our National offices working for Matthew Hawker.
About the role and the team
This is a unique and strategically important role that is responsible for coordinating the operational delivery of legal services for a key government client across multiple offices, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency in a high-volume environment.
A key focus of the role is to assist the Practice Group Leader in managing client relationships by maintaining and operationalising client delivery playbooks, ensuring they remain the single source of truth for how work is delivered, and engaging directly with clients to support service alignment and resolve issues.
Key responsibilities
Support the Practice Group Leader in managing day-to-day operations, priorities, and team communications.
Ensure consistent delivery and responsiveness, and track progress on key initiatives to ensure timely execution.
Oversee team resourcing plans and workload distribution processes to ensure we continue to meet client deadlines and service standards.
This includes working with Learning & Development to support training of new starters, ensuring operational excellence, and identifying and resolving delivery bottlenecks.
Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture across all offices, with a focus on continuous improvement across systems and processes.
This includes implementation and ongoing management of these processes.
Ensure client expectations are understood and reflected in team operations, acting as a point of contact for operational matters with key client stakeholders.
Accountable for the practice's client reporting and billing frameworks, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
About you
5+ years' experience in an operational or senior support role working with internal and external stakeholders.
Must have law firm and/or professional services experience.
Have a nimble approach to work, strong influencing skills, and the ability to foster relationships with a dispersed group of key internal and external stakeholders.
Be highly organised and able to manage competing deadlines and priorities in a high-volume practice.
