About the Opportunity
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Open Academy is seeking a Community Program Coordinator to provide administrative support for children, students, musicians, music educators, and the community at large.
Please note that this role may entail duties outside regular hours and on weekends.
The Open Academy is committed to promoting community music-making and offers numerous short courses designed to provide adults and children with the skills and knowledge to pursue their musical interests, curiosity, or find a creative outlet for their talents in a collaborative group learning environment catering to beginners right through to experienced musicians.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- coordinating classes and events, providing production support for Open Academy courses and workshops
- addressing various inquiries from staff, students, visitors, and the public through phone, email, and in-person interactions, covering various aspects of the work area's operation
- executing daily administrative tasks and delivering support services for courses and workshops.
About you
- strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a range of events with varying requirements and timelines successfully
- possess a music-related tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in a community, performing arts, or adult education environment
- excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of inquiries and providing excellent customer service
- high-level competency in and knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications such as those in the Microsoft Office suite
- experience in organising and promoting cultural events
- the ability to undertake some duties outside regular hours and on weekends
- have an interest in the promotion of community music-making (desirable)
