Therapeutic Youth Worker
We're seeking dedicated individuals to join our care team in South Hedland and make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in out-of-home care.
The Role:
* Meet daily care needs for children and young people, including personal hygiene, health, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and personalised living environment.
* Document events and developments related to day-to-day care provision.
* Ensure NDIS plans are accessible while in care.
* Utilise trauma-informed practices in day-to-day care provision.
* Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions, and safety during escalation and crisis situations.
* Encourage social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
* Collaborate with the care team to develop individualised support plans.
* Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people.
About You:
We're looking for care team members who have a passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experienced in supporting individuals with disabilities and complex needs, promoting their independence.
You'll understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency, and stability in the lives of children and young people. Adapting responses and utilising a range of support strategies. Commitment to meticulous documentation and reporting, with a focus on safeguarding vulnerable children and young people.
