The Personnel Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employees' and senators' entitlements including salaries and allowances, leave, superannuation, and salary packaging requirements. The occupant of this position assists in the production of three fortnightly payrolls and provision of advice on conditions of service.
The Personnel Officer assists in the management of the department's Human Resource Management Information System, Aurion, and liaises with external service providers in relation to the updating, maintenance, security and testing of the system.
The Personnel Officer contributes to the development of policies and supporting documentation relevant to entitlements and conditions and provides advice and assistance to employees, managers and senators on these matters. Additional responsibilities include contributing to general day-to-day tasks of the Human Resource Management section.
