UQ Centre for Clinical Research Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 1 years Base salary will be in the range $91,658 - $98,330 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6) Based at our Herston Campus About This Opportunity We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Research Assistant - Bioanalyst to apply their subject matter expertise and advanced knowledge of bioanalysis to the Antimicrobial Optimisation Bioanalysis Laboratory. The Senior Research Assistant provides support of high-quality research outcomes at all stages of the research life-cycle. More specifically, the role is to conduct bioanalysis (e.g. chromatographic analysis of biological specimens) and laboratory research in support of clinical academic research programme. Key responsibilities will include: Undertakes advanced elements of research, in accordance with scientific/research discipline or methodology. Applies specialist technical skills or knowledge to research activities. Under broad direction, sets up, monitors and demonstrates standard experiments and equipment use. Maintains accurate records of experiments or technical activities and results/outcomes. Ensures a high standard of research housekeeping, waste disposal, sample storage and chemical/specimen/sample inventory management. Assists with developing a proactive safety culture and implement continuous improvement. Demonstrated research-relevant knowledge and skills with expertise in a wide range of specialist and general research techniques, including chromatography or bioanalysis. Advanced technical capabilities in liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry (LCMS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
