- MLC School is looking for **native language tutors** who will support our vision to **educate and inspire** young women to be **fearless thinkers** with **moral courage** and **compassion** to be **agents of change** in their own lives and in the lives of **others**. This position is responsible for supporting student language learning, in line with the learning philosophies, policies and practices of the School. Language tutors will work with students and assist the Languages Teacher in their delivery of language classes.

**Who is the MLC School girl?**
**About the position**
As a Language Tutor, you will be responsible for monitoring and supporting students throughout their language lessons to ensure they are focused on learning throughout their lesson. You will also assist students with their reading, writing, listening and spoken language learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- **Oral Communication Support**: conducting small group or one-on-one speaking sessions to build students' fluency, pronunciation and conversational confidence; assist students in developing listening comprehension through real-time dialogue and native speech patterns and create opportunities for spontaneous speaking practice and informal discussions in the target language.
- **Cultural Enrichment**:Share firsthand insights into the customs, traditions, social norms, and contemporary life of the countries where the language is spoken; encourage cultural curiosity and sensitivity in students to foster a global mindset.
- **Classroom Collaboration**: Work under the guidance of the language teacher to complement curriculum goals and lesson plans.
Provide authentic materials and context to enhance lessons, including native media, songs, and real-world scenarios.
- **Language Development Support**:Help students with grammar, vocabulary, and usage through correction, modelling, and explanations rooted in native usage; encourage the use of the target language outside the classroom through clubs, conversation tables, or informal practice;
offer feedback and encouragement tailored to individual student progress and needs.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Experience in tutoring students from Year 7 - Year 13 in a designated foreign language (Chinese, French, Japanese, Italian or Spanish)
- Hold a current NSW Working With Children's check and First Aid Certificate
