Make every day different by joining Innisfail Hospital’s Emergency Department, Specialist Clinics and Ambulatory Care team. The Nurse Unit Manager is a Registered Nurse accountable at an advanced practice level for leading high‑quality, patient‑centred care within a multidisciplinary team. The role provides clinical leadership and ensures the effective management of people and resources across the Emergency Department and Specialist Clinics.
About us:
Innisfail Hospital is a 49‑bed rural hospital delivering a range of health care services at Level 3–4 in accordance with the Clinical Services Capability Framework. The hospital plays a vital role in meeting the acute and ongoing health needs of the local community and surrounding region.
The Emergency Department is a busy rural service, managing approximately 1,500 presentations per month, and provides essential emergency care across a broad range of clinical presentations. The Specialist Clinics service supports access to care through approximately 10–14 public and private visiting outreach specialist services, ensuring patients can receive specialist assessment and treatment closer to home.
Together, these services contribute to a dynamic, patient‑focused clinical environment that values collaboration, flexibility, and high‑quality care.
About your role:
In this position you will....
* Provide effective and efficient management of service in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate the provision of quality evidence based care.
* Lead the implementation of programs through effective use of teams, establishing clear plans, timelines and specific activities.
* Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the understanding, application, analysis and interpretation of professional clinical and management knowledge and experience to provide sound advice.
* Collaboratively lead, support and participate in investigating and implementing recommendations for improved client outcomes and service delivery using a range of appropriate audit/research approaches.
