ABOUT THE ROLE
The Disability Support Worker and Mentor provides direct support to NDIS participants, including adults, youth, and children in a variety of community settings and in-home environments.
The role involves providing empowering and personalised support to meet the individual needs of people with disabilities, in alignment with their NDIS goals, support care plans, and organisational policies. This includes, but is not limited to, providing in-home support, personal care, facilitating social and community participation, skill development, personal development and mentoring.
As a Disability Support Worker & Mentor at Creativ Minds, you'll go beyond traditional support work. You'll play a vital role in empowering NDIS participants to unlock their potential and live a life filled with purpose and possibility. You'll be a guiding light, providing encouragement and tailored support to help participants achieve their unique goals and aspirations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're seeking individuals who are:
* Enthusiastic about helping others grow, experienced in areas such as support work, mentoring, tutoring, youth sports coaching, or similar
* Have an understanding of mental health, psychosocial disabilities and neurodivergence
* Creative, adaptable and able to demonstrate leadership by taking initiative and thinking outside the box
* Excellent communicators and active listeners with the ability to build trust and strong relationships
* Committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
* Genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside our participants
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* Working with Children Check, Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening (or willing to obtain)
* First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
* A valid SA Driver's License and reliable transport
* Willingness to drive and flexibility to work across different Adelaide metropolitan locations if required
Relevant qualifications (Individual Support, Community Services) or lived experience with a disability are advantageous but not essential.
We also encourage applications from 2nd or 3rd year Psychology, Social Sciences, Developmental Education or Occupational Therapy students.
