The Darling Downs South West region is seeking four fulltime teachers for Term 4, 2024. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and/or teachers with experience working with First Nations families and Communites are encouraged to apply. The positions will be based in the following school locations - Toowoomba State High SchoolLockyer District State High SchoolNanango State High SchoolKingaroy State High School
- Humanities vacancies could include some or all streams of Humanities and Social Sciences (Geography, History, Civics & Citizenship, Economics and Business, across all year levels).
The Role
- The teacher in each school will partner with primary schools in Term 4 to collaboratively plan for transitions from Year 6 to 7 based on voice, identity, strengths, interests and questions from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families.
- The teacher will also partner with staff responsible for transition planning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Year 7 to 8 to enhance existing practices, in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families.
- As this is a pilot program, reporting on actions and impact measures will be a part of this role.

- The position is also professionally supported by the Partnerships and Programs team in Darling Downs South West Region.
