Residential Youth Worker (Logan, Gold Coast, Ipswich)
At Staff on Standby (SOS), we're passionate about providing safe, supportive, and nurturing care for vulnerable young people. We're looking for resilient, compassionate, and adaptable Youth Workers to join our team on a casual basis.

Responsibilities
* Create a safe, stable, and supportive environment
* Build positive, trusting relationships that empower healing and growth
* Support young people's access to education, healthcare, and life skills
* Encourage resilience, independence, and healthy decision-making
* Maintain daily routines and a nurturing home environment
* Complete clear written and verbal reports
* Assist with tailored behaviour management strategies
About You
You are calm, flexible, and creative, with the ability to connect meaningfully with young people. To succeed, you'll need:
* A strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the child protection system
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
* Resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic role
Requirements
* LCS (Licensed Care Check) – highly preferred, ideally completed within the past 12 months (or willingness to obtain a new check)
* Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
* National Police Check (within last 6 months)
* Certificate IV in Youth/Community Services (or near completion of relevant qualification)
* Hope & Healing Certification (or willingness to complete)
* QLD Driver's Licence (preferably Opens)
* Flexibility for rotating rosters (nights, weekends, public holidays)
