The Role Overview
As we implement our ambitious new strategic plan, we're seeking a self-aware, empathic, compassionate and respectful Crisis Supporter & Trainer to join our Crisis Services team to deliver support to those calling13 11 14and to deliver training both internally and to the community.
This vital role is ideal for a passionate self-starter looking to make a difference in a purpose-led team. It will initially undertake learning to become an accredited Crisis Supporter, then move into delivering services including mentoring others, and finally undertake training to deliver community training programs such as DV Alert, DV Aware, ASIST & Safetalk. The successful applicant will have the following passion:

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Crisis Services Team, this role is ideal for someone with strong training skills (TAE 40116 required), a deep desire to help others and a collaborative approach to their lifeline learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Crisis Support via13 11 14in alignment with Lifeline Australia operations manual.
* Collaborate with the Services Coordinator to deliver student mentoring, call coaching and Crisis Supporter Workplace Training.
* Collaborate with the Services Coordinator and Centre Supervisor to support volunteers, to enable engagement and retention.
* Support and co-facilitate a range of mental health, suicide intervention and domestic violence awareness training programs.
* Contribute to the planning of the training deliveries to achieve business outcomes.
* Undertake tasks to meet the crisis supporter and trainer accreditation.
* Administrative and data management tasks to achieve the role outcomes.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE 40116).
* Minimum 2 years in a similar role.
* Demonstrated experience in a support role (crisis support, mental health distress or suicide prevention, highly regarded).
* Strong Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
* Personal attributes of self-awareness, empathy, compassion, respect and unconditional positive regard.
* Proven experience in facilitating workshops or group training with a Lived Experience focus.
* Experience in administration tasks, and an ability to maintain databases.
* Alignment with Lifeline Loddon Mallee purpose and values.
Desirable:
* Strong understanding of the Mental Health system
* Accreditations in any of these programs is desirable CSWT, DV Alert, DV Aware, ASIST, SafeTALK & MHFA.
* Strong knowledge in Lifeline service delivery, framework, policy & procedure.
* An understanding of Lived/living experience, with knowledge on how to create safety and share safely.
