Family Support Professional
We are seeking a skilled Family Support Professional to join our Intensive Family Preservation Program in Goulburn.
This is a crucial role where you will work collaboratively with families who experience complex issues and provide client-focused services aimed at reducing risks and creating positive change within their home environments.
* Advocate for the needs of Aboriginal people, contributing to cultural case plans.
* Commit to trauma-informed care under the Sanctuary model, integrating it into your daily work.
* Foster respectful relationships with stakeholders, government departments, and the community for seamless service delivery.
* Develop and implement case plans in collaboration with families and other service providers and conduct in-home visits to support the achievement of agreed goals.
* Ensure that the voices of clients and families are heard in case planning and goal setting.
* Work respectfully to ensure that case plan goals are achievable and realistic.
* Support and engage parents and children attending playgroup.
Key requirements:
* Relevant qualifications in the Human Services field (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent; Degree qualifications preferred).
* Practical experience in working with vulnerable families and an ability to identify children and young people at risk.
* Demonstrated expertise in client-centred case management.
* Knowledge of the Community Services sector, trauma and its impacts, crisis impacts on families, child protection issues, and legislation.
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently as part of a team, and possess a strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles. You will also require a high level of cultural competence, particularly in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
