About the WesTrac Apprenticeship Program
An apprenticeship with Westrac allows you to earn while you learn. The apprenticeship lasts for 4 or 5 years and upon completion, you will have gained a nationally recognized trade qualification and industry exposure.
You will be guided through our structured rotation program designed to give you exposure to all areas of the business. The apprenticeship includes regular travel to our head office in Tomago for training, which is covered by the company, along with meals and accommodation. Throughout the duration of your apprenticeship, you can expect to spend time in workshops, customer sites, and field service opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar mobile plant equipment
* Perform component overhauls and planned component change outs
* Assemble new machines to customer specifications
* Interpret schematics and technical drawings
* Service machines and write service reports
* Rebuild machines
* Safely operate workshop equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and tools
* Maintain a safe working environment
* Navigate Caterpillar systems to ensure all work is done in accordance with Caterpillar's quality standard
About You:
* Must be 16 years of age or over by December 9th, 2025
* Great communication, reading, and writing skills
* Interest and passion for machinery and hands-on learning
* Driver's license and reliable transport or close to obtaining a driver's license with the ability to get to and from work each day and to our Tomago Head Office for training (approximately 1 week per month in your first year)
* Honest and reliable nature with a team-oriented mindset
