Your Opportunity A well-established independent girls’ school in Melbourne’s inner east is seeking an experienced Temporary Corporate Receptionist to support front-of-house operations within their Junior School and provide high-quality administrative assistance. This temporary opportunity suits a polished, service-driven professional who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment and understands the importance of discretion, professionalism and child safety. As an organisation, they foster a warm and empathetic yet extremely professional environment to ensure that their students are provided an optimal learning space. Your Role You will be the first point of contact for visitors, families, staff and external stakeholders. You will manage the Junior School reception area and ensure daily front-of-house operations run smoothly, while providing general administrative support across the school as required. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary contact for all visitors, enquiries and appointments Manage reception operations, including phone, voicemail and visitor management Deliver a welcoming, professional and child-safe front-of-house experience Screen and sign in visitors in accordance with school protocols Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, couriers and general enquiries Maintain reception areas and meeting spaces to a high professional standard Provide administrative support including printing, filing, record keeping and document management Assist with overflow administrative tasks across departments as required Maintain accurate records, databases and internal contact lists Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality Assisting with level 2 first aid queries About You You are a polished and approachable professional who brings a calm, organised and solutions-focused approach to your work. You take pride in your communication and presentation, and enjoy delivering thoughtful, high-quality service. You work well as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, and are comfortable juggling competing priorities while supporting a wide range of stakeholders. You will bring: 3–5 years’ experience in reception and/or customer service roles Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach High level of discretion and professional judgement Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Mandatory Requirements Current Working with Children Check and Current National Police Check Desirable: Experience in a school or education environment Relevant administrative qualification First Aid & CPR certification What’s in it for you?
