We're looking for a proactive and experienced Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to lead our clients WHS initiatives, policies, and compliance efforts.
This role is essential in ensuring a safe working environment and supporting our team across multiple sites and events.This position has become available due to an upcoming leadership change and offers the chance to make a real impact on safety culture.
You'll work closely with internal teams, external regulators, and stakeholders to deliver strategic safety programs aligned with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of work health and safety services and initiatives, aligning with strategic priorities.
Provide expert advice on legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards to support operational activities.
Build and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders including HR, team leaders, and operations teams.
Coach and mentor responsibilities holders such as First Aid Officers and Safety Representatives.
Maintain and review WHS policies, procedures, and risk management plans, especially for significant events and public holidays.
Oversee early intervention programs and case management to support employee rehabilitation and return to work.
Lead incident investigations, analyse safety data, and develop reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
Manage and develop the WHS team, budget, procurement, and external stakeholder engagement.
About You
Relevant qualification in work health and safety or a related field, with proven experience managing WHS in complex environments.
Deep understanding of legislation, risk management, and safety standards applicable to large organisations.
Skilled in identifying hazards, designing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing continuous improvements.
Strong leader with excellent communication skills, capable of developing clear documentation for diverse audiences.
Experience managing workers' compensation claims and implementing early intervention programs.
Resilient, positive, and professional, with the ability to lead teams and adapt to changing circumstances.
Membership or eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Health & Safety is desirable.
