Job Description Cook position available salary $80000 annually. As a Cook at Pastacup, you will assist with food preparation and cooking while ensuring meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of menu items including breakfast dishes, mains, sides, and specialty items
* Wash, peel, chop, cut, and portion ingredients in preparation for cooking
* Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
* Plate and present meals to required standards before service
* Assist in preparing customer orders efficiently during busy service periods
* Support menu updates by preparing seasonal ingredients and components
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
* Ensure proper storage of food under correct temperature, labeling, and handling of food items
* Maintain portion control and minimise food waste
* Assist in accommodating special dietary requirements and allergy-related requests
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment
* Follow food safety procedures and comply with OH&S regulations
* Work cooperatively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
* May train other kitchen staff or apprentices and may plan menu
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or equivalent qualification (preferred)
* At least one (1) year of relevant kitchen experience as a Cook
* Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods
* Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
* Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
* Good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong teamwork skills and positive work attitude
* Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
* Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn
* Passion for food preparation and hospitality
