A well established Australian manufacturer is entering a new phase of growth and modernisation. With a multi site footprint and a strong reputation for delivering engineered products and solutions, the business is seeking a commercially minded General Manager with strong financial acumen to lead national operations and help shape what comes next.
The Role
Reporting to the Directors, you will balance strategy with hands‐on leadership across commercial performance, operational delivery, people, and customer outcomes. You will bring disciplined financial management to the role, translating strategy into measurable results through strong planning, cost control, and performance reporting.
What You Will Be Responsible For
* Strategy and growth – Lead multi‐year planning, market expansion, and commercial modelling; Oversee tendering, pricing, and key contract negotiations.
* Financial leadership and governance – Own P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight; Strengthen financial reporting, KPI discipline, and decision‐making insights; Identify cost optimisation and margin improvement opportunities across the business.
* Operations and performance – Drive operational efficiency through continuous improvement and performance discipline; Ensure safety, quality, compliance, and consistent delivery across all sites.
* Leadership and culture – Lead multi site teams, workforce planning, and performance accountability; Support EBAs and industrial relations, and guide change initiatives.
* Stakeholders and partnerships – Strengthen relationships with key customers, suppliers, and internal leaders; Improve service outcomes and operational resilience across the business.
About You
* Senior leadership experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
* Demonstrated financial acumen, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
* Proven success in contracts, tendering, and long‐term client partnerships.
* High EQ, decisive leadership style, and a track record of leading change.
* Willing to travel nationally as required.
