About the role
As a Senior Manager in our Audit & Assurance team, you'll take a leading role in managing complex projects, guiding high-performing teams, and driving business growth.
You'll be a trusted advisor to clients, delivering strategic insights and risk solutions while fostering a collaborative and empowering team culture.
This is an opportunity to make a significant impact, both for our clients and within RSM, by shaping the future of our audit practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple audit engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes within budget and deadlines
Identify and address complex technical accounting and audit issues
Review financial statements for compliance and prepare clear reports and opinions for management
Summarise key engagement areas for partners and act as a technical expert in specific industries
Oversee and mentor audit teams, providing training and ensuring methodology compliance
Build and maintain strong client relationships, with extensive client contact and third-party liaison
Drive business development, including cross-selling firm services and negotiating fees
Monitor staffing requirements and resource planning for future needs
Contribute to business growth through marketing activities and effective presentations
Demonstrate commercial responsibility for client profitability and risk mitigation strategies
About you
You are a strategic audit leader with a proven track record in managing complex projects and high-performing teams.
You thrive on building strong client relationships, driving business growth, and delivering innovative risk solutions.
Your commercial acumen, technical expertise, and collaborative leadership style set you apart as a trusted advisor and mentor.
Demonstrated Experience & Attributes
Minimum 8 years of audit experience, including at least 3 years managing teams
CA qualification (or equivalent) and a degree in Business / Commerce (Accounting major)
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
Excellent attention to detail and advanced prioritisation skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
In-depth knowledge of the Corporations Act, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards
Proven business development experience and commercial responsibility
Experience in staff training, mentoring, and resource planning
Ability to act as a technical expert in specific industries or service areas
