Primary Objective To work collaboratively with principals, school staff, the community, students, parents/caregivers, and service providers to support student attendance, participation, and engagement in learning. The role also involves connecting children and families with external services, including health and allied health.
Context Statement The Children and Schooling Program (CASP) focuses on community-based strategies to improve school attendance and engagement by bringing together families, schools, communities, and services. It is part of the Engagement Programs, Performance and Reporting, and Inclusion and Engagement Services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Work collaboratively to support student attendance and engagement. Provide education advice and support to parents and carers, including home visits. Promote educational activities and messages to students and families. Assist in delivering activities to improve attendance and participation. Support case coordination services addressing student concerns, including cultural advice and advocacy. Perform administrative duties for accurate program reporting. Selection Criteria Essential: Knowledge of school administration systems or willingness to learn. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to foster positive relationships. Understanding of privacy principles and confidentiality. Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with diverse groups. Ability to work positively in a team and collaboratively with management and peers. Proficiency in computer programs for reporting and information management.
