Opportunity Overview
A great opportunity exists to work in the rail industry.
As a Conductor, you will be based onboard trains primarily responsible for safety.
* Keep constant communication with the driver via radio, staying up to date with passenger numbers boarding and alighting at each stop and capture this data in V/Line apps.
* Administer first aid and spot clean the train as required, providing exceptional customer service to all passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Service & Information: Be the point of contact for passengers, helping and informing them face to face and via a PA system.
* Train Preparation: Ensure trains are ready for service, from cleanliness to functionality.
* Fare Management: Handle ticket sales, checking tickets, and provide fare advice during train services.
* Platform Duties: Oversee train departures and assist with luggage at stations.
* Cooking Duties: Manage coaches during planned and unplanned disruptions and events.
* Fault Reporting: Manage and report any equipment or facility issues.
* Emergency Management: Prepare to handle service disruptions and emergencies.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
* Conductor Training Course.
* First Aid – Level 2.
* Food Hygiene for food handlers Level 1.
* Track Awareness.
* Fares and ticketing manual, including the new ticketing system.
* Ability to travel and work within 80km from your home depot as required.
* Brief understanding of/familiarity with computer applications.
* Commitment to customer service.

* Demonstrates attention to detail.
