We're looking for an experienced and values-driven HR Manager to support the people who support others. This part-time role is ideal for a senior HR professional who wants to make a genuine difference in the disability and community services sector, while enjoying flexibility and work-life balance.
A hybrid role in our Spreyton office, you'll work closely with leadership to build safe, compliant, and people-centred systems that allow our teams to deliver high-quality support every day.
About the Role
As our HR Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping a positive workplace culture and supporting leaders and staff across the organisation. This is a hands-on, trusted advisor role, combining strategic HR leadership with practical, day-to-day support.
You'll work directly with the Director and Executive team and participate in a rotating on-call roster every 4–6 weeks.
The Human Resources Manager also works closely with, directs, and supports a Document Compliance Officer, who assists with all documentation, record-keeping and compliance processes associated with human resources.
What You'll Be Doing
* Providing practical, values-aligned HR advice to leaders and support staff
* Coaching managers to support their teams confidently and compassionately
* Leading recruitment, onboarding, and early staff support
* Ensuring HR compliance with NDIS requirements, employment legislation, and internal policies
* Developing, reviewing, and improving workplace policies and procedures
* Supporting performance management, grievances, and disciplinary matters with fairness and professionalism
* Designing and delivering training that builds capability and confidence
* Managing daily communications across admin, accounts, rostering and service coordination
* Contributing to continuous improvement and positive organisational culture
* Participating in a rotating on-call roster (every 4–6 weeks)
About You
You're an experienced HR professional who:
* Leads with empathy, integrity, and clarity
* Understands the unique challenges of disability and community services
* Is confident balancing people needs with compliance and commercial realities
* Enjoys being hands-on and building trusted relationships
What You'll Bring
Essential:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in HR operations
* Experience managing recruitment, compliance, and staff development
* Strong experience in performance management, grievances, and disciplinary processes
* Sound knowledge of:
* NDIS Practice Standards
* Restrictive Practices
* Modern Awards and National Employment Standards
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compliance requirements (or willingness to obtain):
* Criminal Record Check
* Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card
* First Aid & CPR certification
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence

* Qualifications in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
* Experience in disability, health, or community services
* Experience using PRODA
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
