About the opportunity
The Strategy and Research Division works collaboratively to support the development and delivery of WorkSafe's Strategy, with a focus on organisational alignment ensuring we have an enterprise view of progress.
The Research team facilitates research and gathers evidence and insights to inform strategy development and guide the delivery of strategic initiatives, as well as evaluating outcomes. This team is also responsible for the development and delivery of WorkSafe's Voice of Customer platform CheckPoint, integrating surveys into the platform and creating actionable insights from the data collected.
The role of the Research Advisor is to provide specialist and authoritative advice to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to support the design, development and project management of a broad range of strategically-aligned research activities.

This is a role which will allow you to drive the delivery of tangible research outcomes across a portfolio of projects that will have a positive impact on our society.
Key accountabilities:
* Provide authoritative, timely, and technical research advice, recommendations, and reports to stakeholders on how to maximise on the impact of the research.
* Influence and educate internal stakeholders on developing fit for purpose research, provide solutions and ensure alignment with the WorkSafe Strategy.
* Develop complex research project briefs and proposals for senior level and Director approval and ensure research projects are fully specified, scoped, evaluation measures and methodologies are articulated to produce quality evidence and provide value.
* Proactively drive visibility for research insights and outcomes across WorkSafe by working with Research management to share key insights, increase awareness and knowledge of all surveys and research projects with senior leaders and other business users.
* Engage and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful research project outcomes and proactively monitor and compile project progress and provider performance reports.

About you
You will have strong experience with research methodologies and in conducting thorough research.
You will thrive in a fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment and have strong analytical skills.
Amongst your key strengths will be your demonstrated ability to communicate, provide advice, liaise and negotiate effectively with internal stakeholders and research providers
In addition you will have strong facilitation, presentation and writing skills, attention to detail and well developed interpersonal skills.
Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:
* Demonstrated experience in application of qualitative, quantitative and evaluative research skills, including data collection and analysis applied in various research contexts, preferably government or health sectors.
* Highly demonstrated survey development experience.
* Strong data analysis skills and reporting software Power BI and excel to deliver high quality reporting outputs, as well as the ability to explain complex or technical issues clearly and in a way that can be understood and accepted by a range of audiences.
* Subject matter expert in all research methods in managing research projects, ensuring they are fully specified, scoped, evaluation measures are used and methodologies are articulated to produce quality evidence and provide value.
* Proven ability to critically appraise, design, evaluate, monitor fit for purpose research.
* Experience in procuring research services through tendering, evaluation, contracting and quotations.
* Strong experience in primary and secondary research utilising a variety of methods to identify customer insights and impact to influence and negotiate with senior leaders.
Qualifications
* Post graduate qualifications in a related discipline are highly desirable.
